A little about me: I love God, natural hair, my cello, writing, fitness, and the human body (I am currently applying to nursing school). These are the things that are currently important to me and that I apply most of my time to improving/working on.
As far as natural hair (which is the main focus of this blog, but I will incorporate the rest from time to time) I got my last relaxer Dec 2009. The following January, I was laid off of a job and watched Good Hair. I have been able to braid my hair for years, so i decided to transition using braids/ kinky twists. I just had to buy the hair, so there were minimal expenses. Aside from that, I really had no vision or plan. No growth goal styles in mind, hair idols etc. Just a pack of weave and a little nervousness. I'd been natural before, but had no idea what I was doing that time and knew that my hair could get pretty big. But my relaxer wasn't looking so great, and I decided to just take the plunge. My hair was full SL, minus the bangs. I had average confidence in my hair at the time. It didn't occupy all my thoughts, but I had spent considerable time growing up worrying about how it compared to my sisters' hair (I have 3) and wishing it would reach my waist.
What this site will be about:
Hair styles made easy. I will try to upload something in this area 3-4 times a week. Keyword try. I have come to the realization that I might actually be pretty decent at doing my hair. Recently, i have had several naturals approach me for advice, and at a meetup, I realized a lot of people needed some of the answers I have been able to find.
Hair services
I have already done various styles for several friends/ acquaintances, and am willing to continue to help out other naturals on the side. I will create a section on this blog to list services and (very modest/affordable) prices.
